On June 8th, our Founder & CEO, Robert Reffkin, appeared on CNBC Squawk on the Street to announce immediate actions that Compass is taking to support economic equality for the Black community.

We encourage other companies to join us in adjusting their practices. Here is a list of the following commitments

Compass has made:

1. Compass has made a commitment that going forward, the company will only work with external advisors who have at least one Black professional on the team directly advising Compass. Every year, Compass works with many different external advisors, such as lawyers, accountants, bankers, consultants, and recruiting firms. It's very hard to get a company to change out of the goodness of its heart, but it's much easier to get a company to change for its customers.

2. We are inviting all Compass agents — and all agents across the industry — to join the 15% Pledge to allocate 15% of their real estate vendor spend to Black professionals. If agents across the industry did this, those professionals would earn more than $2 billion per year from real-estate agents alone.
3. We hope Corporate America joins us in efforts to diversify their boards, ensuring everyone is represented. Right now, only 8% of corporate board members are black. At Compass, we are proud that our board is 40% black and 40% women.
